The sloth is one of the most emblematic animals of Costa Rica, recently declared one of our national symbols.
Join us for a short hike through the rainforest. This trail is only 2 km (1.25 miles) and is suitable for the whole family. It’s very common to spot sloths hiding within the vegetation. Our guides share interesting facts about the plants and animals you encounter along the way. The property is also a great place to spot a variety of birds.

Children's Eternal Rainforest Hike

We depart from La Fortuna and head to the Pocosol Rangers Station, taking a route that crosses remote mountains with incredible views.
The reserve has several trails, including “Velo de Novia” waterfall, a two-hour hike that leads to this magnificent waterfall in the heart of the forest. During our walk we can see a rich diversity of wildlife,it is common to see a great variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects. This place is a hidden natural gem, ideal for hiking enthusiasts.

Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
Travel through the northern lowlands for about 2 hours to reach Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, a remote area of wetland jungle, rivers, canals, and pristine rainforest. This area is incredibly rich in wildlife.
Watch the shores for green iguanas, crocodiles, and aimans. Spot monkeys swinging through the trees or relaxing with their troops on low branches. There’s also a chance to see wood storks, cormorants, sandpipers, parrots, toucans, and many other birds. For mammal lovers, keep an eye on the jungle as you might spot white-tailed deer, tayras, or even ocelots.

Waterfall Hike
This tour is a unique hiking option, taking you away from crowded and tourist heavy areas. Located at the base of Poas Volcano, the trail passes through the farming lands of Toro Amarillo village.
For this tour you will drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately away from La Fortuna, the drive will be scenic with beautiful landscapes. We begin the hike along a local farmer’s muddy path, crossing into river canyons where you’ll witness breathtaking waterfalls
