We depart from La Fortuna and head to the Pocosol Rangers Station, taking a route that crosses remote mountains with incredible views.

The reserve has several trails, including “Velo de Novia” waterfall, a two-hour hike that leads to this magnificent waterfall in the heart of the forest. During our walk we can see a rich diversity of wildlife,it is common to see a great variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects. This place is a hidden natural gem, ideal for hiking enthusiasts.

Travel through the northern lowlands for about 2 hours to reach Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, a remote area of wetland jungle, rivers, canals, and pristine rainforest. This area is incredibly rich in wildlife.

Watch the shores for green iguanas, crocodiles, and aimans. Spot monkeys swinging through the trees or relaxing with their troops on low branches. There’s also a chance to see wood storks, cormorants, sandpipers, parrots, toucans, and many other birds.
